Pour plus d&#8217;une d\u00e9cennie, il collabor\u00e9 avec Eugenio Barbara et l\u2019ISTA (International School of Theater Anthropology).\u00a0 Il enseigne et se produit r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement en France. \u00a0Il a jou\u00e9 et dirig\u00e9 des ateliers de mime au Mus\u00e9e du Design de Zurich, au Mus\u00e9e du th\u00e9\u00e2tre autrichien \u00e0 Vienne, au Mus\u00e9e National de l\u2019Ethnologie \u00e0 Osaka, au Centre Am\u00e9ricain \u00e0 Montevideo, au Movement Theater International \u00e0 Philadelphie, entre autres. Thomas Leabhart est r\u00e9dacteur en chef du <em>Mime Journal<\/em>, et auteur de <em>Modern and Post Modern Mime<\/em> (Macmillan \u00e0 Londres et St. Martin\u2019s Press, New-York, 1989) et <em>Etienne Decroux<\/em>, Routledge Performance Practitioners (Routledge Press 2007).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>LE MIME CORPOREL D\u2019ETIENNE DECROUX<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Elabor\u00e9 par Etienne Decroux, le Mime Corporel trouve ses racines dans certaines recherches th\u00e9\u00e2trales du 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle (Appia, Craig, Copeau). Son objectif est de placer le drame \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du corps en mouvement plut\u00f4t que de substituer la parole au geste, comme dans la pantomime ancienne.\u00a0A la fois sculpteur et sculpture, le mime doit appliquer \u00e0 son mouvement des principes qui sont \u00e0 l\u2019origine du drame : l\u2019attente, l\u2019h\u00e9sitation, le poids, la r\u00e9sistance et la surprise.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>La cr\u00e9ation &#8211; atteindre l&#8217;extraordinaire gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#8217;ordinaire<\/h3>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Etienne Decroux demandait \u00e0 ses \u00e9tudiants de cr\u00e9er de nouvelles compositions en arrangeant des mouvements ordinaires (des rotations, des inclinaisons, des transferts de poids) pour en faire des combinaisons extraordinaires, intercalant les mouvements quotidiens dans des combinaisons inattendues et fascinantes.<\/p>\n<p>Notre atelier va guider l&#8217;acteur \u00e0 travers les plus simples de ces articulations au cours d&#8217;une d\u00e9marche cr\u00e9ative qui se terminera par un court travail de cr\u00e9ation.\u00a0\u00bb<br \/>\n-Thomas Leabhart<\/p>\n<h3>LE PROGRAMME INCLUERA<\/h3>\n<p>\u2022 \u00c9chauffement \/ Explorations du mouvement<br \/>\n\u2022 Mime Corporel Technique: gamme, contrepoids, dynamo-rythme, figures de style, les marches<br \/>\n\u2022 Improvisations<br \/>\n\u2022 Nouvelles Cr\u00e9ations<br \/>\n\u2022 L&#8217;Heure du th\u00e9: Contes et M\u00e9taphores[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]<blockquote class=\"nk-blockquote-style-1  \">\n                    <p>One of the most gifted and accomplished disciples of Decroux is Thomas Leabhart...a superb solo performer. Leabhart&#039;s body is transforming and transposing itself through a series of highly charged postures and moves--sudden cringes; startling grabbings of his head and torso by clutching fingers or twisted arms; swift, smooth falls and rollovers. There&#039;s a wild disjunction to it all--often parts of the body seem to be going in opposing directions and tempos at the same time but also a crazy internal logic.
